IPv6 Address : Private Experimental Network

For private, experimental, or lab networks, you can use ULA (similar to IPv4 private IPs):

  • Prefix: fc00::/7 (commonly used: fd00::/8)
  • Structure: fdxx:xxxx:xxxx::/48 (randomly generate the 40-bit Global ID)

Example:

fd12:3456:789a::/48 → gives you 65,536 /64 subnets.
